CSP’s have a strong passion for increasing participation amongst under-represented and disengaged groups, in line with their Equity policy and Guidelines within the Equality Standard for Sport.
CSP’s recognise that this requires a disproportionate amount of effort and resource and that whilst absolute numbers are often lower the benefits to the individual and society may be greater. CSP’s strive to find an appropriate balance between the provision of ‘universal’ services and hitting our participation targets across all age groups, with specific interventions and projects to address target groups. All CSPs and the CSPN have equality polices to show their commitment to coordinating and driving this area of work.
CSPN Equality and Diversity Policy
CSP’s have led the way in the achievement of the Equality Standards for sport. The Equality Standard is a framework document which helps sports and community organisations achieve equality. It will help organisations develop structures and processes, assess their performance and ensure continuous improvement in equality.
